Assisted Lab Research Meeting with guest speaker Perry Bhandal

British filmmaker Perry Bhandal joined Assisted Lab’s research meeting to discuss his 2026 feature film Okay, It’s Time To Go, which he produced entirely using generative AI tools. Set in a near-future society, the film explores the introduction and commercialisation of the Stopwatch, a device that makes painless suicide instantly accessible and fundamentally alters how people can choose to end their lives. Our discussion focused not only on the film’s subject matter, but also on the role of filmmaking in bringing complex and sensitive issues into public conversation. We explored how fictional narratives can draw attention to aspects that may otherwise receive little space in political or societal debate, and how film can create opportunities to question established assumptions and perspectives.
